Communication

Help a patient use their private portal

Explain the secure link for appointments, messages, consent, profile updates, payments, and documents.
Who this is for
Receptionists, administrators, doctors, and patients
Where to go
The private portal link sent to the patient
What you will finish
The patient can complete the intended task without sharing their link or sensitive information elsewhere.

What the portal is for

  1. The patient opens the private link supplied by the clinic.
  2. They can review appointments, confirm or request a change, send a message, update allowed profile details, review payment information, complete consent, or send a requested document.
  3. Available choices depend on the patient's current appointment and clinic settings.

Guide the patient

  1. Ask what they are trying to do, not for the private link itself.
  2. Tell them the name of the section and action to choose.
  3. Ask them to read the final confirmation shown on screen.
  4. Check Messages, Reception, or the patient profile for the clinic-side result.

If the link does not work

  1. Check that the full link was opened and was not changed by copying.
  2. Ask the patient not to post or forward it.
  3. Confirm the patient's identity using clinic policy.
  4. Issue or resend access only through the clinic's approved process.
  5. If the problem continues, record the time and screen message for the administrator.
